I grew up on a farm on the North Coast of Northern Ireland. Having always had a passion for science I studied chemistry at Queen’s University, Belfast and graduated with my MSci in 2012. I then moved to London and and currently working towards my PhD in organic chemistry.
I married Pauline in 2012. We met in playgroup and grew up in the same community and had been together since we were 17. Pauline currently works as a midwife in a South London hospital. She is also a keen reader though we have two very different reading styles. I am always in the middle of several books at once whereas Pauline often puts life on hold until she gets her book finished.
I was brought up attending our local Presbyterian church and became a Christian at a young age. Pauline and I are now members of a Co-Mission church in South London.
I was always an avid reader but lost the bug at university for a few years and am now trying to catch up. My chief problem in reading is deciding what to read next. There is always so much I want to read and too little time to do it.
I visited Northern Ireland a long time ago—back in 1980 and 1981. I met a lot of friendly people in Ireland while I lived there. Lots of beautiful scenery.
